American wind energy association (AWEA) is seeking a federal affairs associate to coordinate extensive congressional outreach, including organizing the annual industry lobby day, and managing the daily activities of AWEA’s political action committee, while also supporting the administrative needs of the federal affairs team. The team is a fast paced group tasked with achieving positive legislative and policy outcomes in congress and the administration that will result in deployment of more wind energy.

• work with AWEA companies to proactively bring elected officials and their key constituents to wind farm ribbon cuttings, site visits and factory tours; field requests for wind farm tours from capitol hill.American wind work with AWEA director of strategic engagement to capture constituent contacts in database.


• in consultation with the windpac treasurer and committee chairs, organize windpac fundraisers and windpac-sponsored events for state and federal candidates.

• coordinate with AWEA membership value and experience team to ensure PAC records are up to date and reflective of current membership; and implement strategies for better marketing and education of AWEA members about windpac.

• provide scheduling coordination for meetings and appointments; assist with filing expense reports; order subscriptions, complete mailings, monitor contracts, process invoices, and perform other administrative tasks.American wind

• assist in monitoring and maintaining sections of AWEA’s web site pertaining to federal programs and policy. Help develop content on federally significant issues.

• support AWEA committees and subcommittees overseen by federal affairs staff by maintaining database of committee members and facilitating communications to committee members.

AWEA is a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This job may experience high work demands under tight timelines. Must be: self-starter, detail-oriented, proactive, able to multi-task and prioritize; able to adhere to timelines; have strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and strong collaborative and organizational skills, proficiency in microsoft office tools.American wind familiarity with online database functions of federal election commission preferred.
