Esports nutrition provider runtime raises 7-digit seed round – the esports observer database training

Runtime CEO, aleksandrs zavoloks, told the esports observer that 2017 was about building the brand, proving the concept and getting solid traction—2018 will be about scaling the company’s operations, marketing, R&D & the team.

“it’s a nutritional, but also a lifestyle brand,” he says. “we see runtime as being your sidekick, and helping you achieve more throughout the day. That’s why I want to build more products that will just help at different tasks that you perform, not only during team practice.”

Like other products in the gaming nutrition space, runtime creates brand awareness through partnerships, and will announce its first top european team partnership in the nearest future. “we are really careful when it comes to sponsorships. As part of working with teams, runtime doesn’t simply supply products to the players, but invites them to a performance lab in munich where the products are developed.Esports observer the lab itself is owned by dr. Lutz graumann, a sports medicine and nutrition expert, who will work with the teams and its players to show how they can prepare for a match. “we believe that as nutrition partner, we should be able to give more than just samples of our products and ask to take a photo with it in return,’” says zavoloks.

In the mainstream, the idea of fitness for video gaming is unheard of at best, and derided at worst. Zavoloks, who is a former professional cyclist, compares the stamina requirements of his sport to what professional gamers need.

It’s an immense stress to be concentrating for every round. There’s maybe like a ten-minute break.
