Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer of the BC Provincial Renal Agency (BCPRA), the Senior Solution Architect provides technical design leadership and direction in the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of health informatics systems in support of the achievement of the strategic goals of the BCPRA. Database history The position draws on a high level of expertise in the architectural design of clinical information systems, translating business needs into technical specifications, architectural strategies, system designs, and development guidelines within the landscape of agency systems, and enterprise application environments in health authorities province-wide.

• Performs analysis of business requirements, identifying technical specifications and translating these into technical architectural system designs and occasionally prototypes. Database b tree Documents these architectural designs and communicates them to operational and project teams.

• Develops and maintains an overall System Architecture Strategic Plan, including a roadmap to transition from current state architecture to planned future state architecture. Database optimization Collaborates closely with Manager Software Development, Project Managers, Data Architect, and other stakeholders to ensure individual solution designs progress towards overall future state architecture while supporting project and operational needs.

• Collaborates with the Manager, Software Development to develop and maintain the System Development Life Cycle processes and methodologies for BCPRA information technology undertakings, including a development framework including development standards, tools, reports, interfaces and documentation requirements for new and existing applications.

• Provides input and guidance to the Data Architect for the BCPRA’s data models for systems such as PROMIS, describing data elements and how they are used. A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline and seven (7) years of experience in architecture planning, design and development of multi-tiered, high available infrastructure and systems.

• Broad knowledge of database architecture and optimization, Systems Development Life Cycle, project design, software development methodologies, design evaluation and system monitoring, project management principles, and multiple project interaction and integration.

• Expert knowledge and experience in core computer technologies and strategies, including technology design, implementation, support and administration functions related to Oracle, Microsoft Windows and Active Directory, client/server and web application development, performance tuning, and general networking experience including technology design and security.
