Emory schley do you know what facebook knows about you – news – ocala.com – ocala, fl 7 data recovery suite registration code

The national media this past week has filed numerous reports about exploitation of data from users of facebook, the social media megalith that has an estimated 2 billion users. Notice that’s a “B,” not an “M.” two billion is 2,000 millions or about six times the population of the united states.

Several years ago, it was almost impossible to resign from facebook or to get a peek at its inner workings. But I have to give facebook credit on this score. They’ve improved that situation remarkably. Even here in semi-rural beautiful marion county, today you can use your computer to keep an eye on what information facebook has about you and, supposedly, you CAN control much of it.Patients’ rooms

Just for kicks, I downloaded facebook’s information on me, and I was astounded to find that action produced a desktop folder 77.2 megabytes in size consisting of 540 items, and I’m NOT a heavy FB user!

Apparently every little click, swipe or keypress is recorded by facebook’s mammoth computer databases, so ads on facebook can be perfectly matched to users’ interests.

Go to the top of your facebook page. You’ll see your first name, “home” and then some icons. At the far right is a small upside-down triangle. Click on it and a menu will appear. The next-to-last item is “settings.” double-click on that. The next page will be “general account settings,” followed by a list.Information facebook just below the list is a box stating “download a copy of your facebook data.”

Click on that and facebook’s data will be downloaded to your computer. It will be in a folder named “facebook-(yourname)1” and opening the folder will show you what information the facebook servers have collected on you. It’s an interesting exercise and — somewhat scary to boot!

Facebook has been losing a lot of subscribers lately, and a little more poking around on your part can lead you to where you can resign from the “club,” if that’s what you choose to do. I’m going to keep my member status, for the time-being anyway. We’ll see what the future holds.

I had walked a goodly portion of the grounds — about two miles — when I realized I just couldn’t walk much farther, so we headed to the main gate entry to catch a golf-cart shuttle.Patients’ rooms I asked a lady driving one of the carts if we could get a lift. She said, ‘sure,’ and asked the two ladies already sitting in her cart to unload and wait for her. I was dumbfounded. She coaxed my wife and I in and drove us out to our car. On the way she said she was so proud, as her son had just finished FIRST in one of the events. We congratulated her, and apologized for ‘kicking out’ her previous ladies. She then explained they were her personal friends, so they’d wait, because we looked like we needed a lift!

"I’m not accustomed to people being this kind, so thank you, ms. Arnold, you made this vet’s whole day! And again ‘congratulations’ on your son’s win!”
