We’re looking for a procurement specialist and supervisor to join our Purchasing Services department to coordinate the management and development of corporate, IT, health care, and vocational rehabilitation contracts and procurement projects.

In this role, you’ll research, develop, make recommendations, and implement strategies to improve WorkSafeBC’s procurement practices. • Oversee the activities of user group teams and service/commodity providers by developing contract action plans and providing direction and technical advice

• Review, research, and analyze requests from management regarding the impacts of issues and the development and application of procedures, as they relate to risk mitigation

• Establish a contact analysis team to review contractual goals and objectives, and address utilization, compliance, provider demographics, and audit requirements

• Assist the team through knowledge and application of leadership and team building skills and techniques such as group facilitation, coordination, coaching, problem solving, interpersonal communication, and integration of work processes and products

• Act as a resource to represent WorkSafeBC interests in provider/vendor fair and equitable treatment to promote strategic and long term supply relationships

• Identify, define, analyze, and apply law and policy to issues and facts to assess impact, recognize relevance, evaluate options, and make recommendations

• Use project management principles and techniques including estimating costs, identifying resource requirements, establishing timelines, and monitoring progress

• A minimum of six years of procurement experience, that includes at least three years of experience in a senior position or leading complex procurement projects
